Sri Mayapur Community Hospital Unveils
New Reception and OPD Block
On December 5, Sri Mayapur Community Hospital reached a major milestone with the inauguration of its newly extended section. The expansion includes a welcoming reception area on the ground floor, outpatient departments (OPDs) on the first and second floors, and a state-of-the-art operation theatre on the second floor.
The venue was beautifully decorated with flowers by the female devotees who work at the hospital, and a Vastu Homa was performed during the occasion, marking an auspicious beginning with this new phase of the hospital’s development. The event was graced by the presence of Mayapur Co-directors, Jayapataka Swami, Hrdaya Caitanya Das, and Subheksana Das, who offered their blessings to the hospital team.
Addressing the gathering, Jayapataka Swami expressed his satisfaction with the hospital’s progress and noted that the new extension marks a significant advancement. He said, “We are trying to build a spiritual city. This was Srila Prabhupada’s desire. A city should have a hospital with doctors to treat the devotees, and many dham vasis are also benefiting from this facility. We are very glad to see the hospital developing.”
Hrdaya Caitanya Das mentioned how Srila Prabhupada always made health the first priority, followed by chanting, service, and reading scriptures. Reflecting on the hospital’s growth, he said, “It is wonderful to see the hospital growing, and in the master plan, the hospital is a top priority because health is so important. We hope that the family atmosphere and the personal care that Srila Prabhupada established in the hearts of his disciples will continue to flourish here.” He also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated doctors, nurses, and devotees who tirelessly serve the hospital and its mission.
The project leader, Harilila Das, also spoke and highlighted the significance of the development, “The opening of the new reception, OPDs, and the operation theatre is a major milestone for the project. It will undoubtedly enhance patient comfort and allow us to introduce additional services for our beneficiaries. This is made possible only due to the generous contributions of our benevolent donors.”
He also provided an update on the ongoing work, emphasizing the urgency of completing the project. With an additional ten crores (approximately 1 million USD) needed to finalize the building, the team is working diligently to meet the goal of making the hospital fully operational before the TOVP inauguration. Harilila Das stressed the importance of collective support from the community in achieving this vision.
